I promised I wouldn’t talk about weddings anymore, but I finally got around to examining the true cost of our wedding and thought I would share.
David and I started with a specific budget and paid for 98% of the wedding ourselves. Our budget was less than HALF what the average wedding costs; our total wedding was still less than 3/4 The day I realized we were going over the budget was the day I decided to buy a second dress and it was hard to determine whether what I wanted and needed was worth the investment.
Luckily, going over the budget wasn’t forgetting that one still existed and I think we are both proud that we’re “graduating” with no wedding debt.
